DevBlog#11 Game level design and features!


Hi everyone,

This week I have kept myself busy with game art and level design. As inspired by Downwell, I am going to create levels with structure similar to it (vertical level with upwards movement, Downwell had downwards movement though, hence the name I guess, lol).

But, to keep things interesting I intend to create side levels as well. These areas could be as places for special artifacts that you can collect or as places for boss fights. Currently design for such side level looks like this:


In upper left corner you can see crosses. These will be game health/faith points which you can either lose when hit by enemies or replenish them by collecting items in the game. If you loose all the faith points in the game – you loose and have to re-start the level.

In addition to level design I have thought about features/gameplay and think that besides melee weapons there should be some guns as well, so keep an eye out for updates by subscribing for weekly mail or by joining Discord server and it’s community where you can ask questions and also place suggestions for the game!
